Our craft today is the photo frame earring holder above. Special thanks to the Pat and Janet who helped out with this week's craft. It took awhile to figure it out, but once we did, it's not so hard... Don't forget to comment below because we're giving one of these away. US residents only.
Materials:
- Screening (you can get this at any hardware store)
- Scissors
- Gorilla Glue
- Small staple gun
- Attractive wooden photo frame (metal will not work)
Step One:
Measure your screening an inch beyond the frame and cut it. It's important that you have a little excess but not too much.
Step Two:
Use your staple gun to staple the screening to the frame. It's better if you staple it into the side (see below) instead of straight down. I learned this the hard way and destroyed a frame when the staple went all the way through the front. You'll need to secure the screening this way all around the frame. This was a little tricky at first, so we have lots of photos.
Step Three:
Cut the excess screening away.
Step Four:
Now you have a choice to finish your project. You can either slide the backing back into the frame and stand it up or hang it on the wall. Because our frame is shallow, you'll need to turn the earring backing as you put it in the earring holder a little (see photo up top), especially for earrings with long backs. This ensures that they don't get knocked off easily.
And here's the final product:
