Martin Cruz Smith's latest novel, Tatiana, follows Arkady Renko (made famous in Gorky Park) as he unravels the mystery of a controversial female journalist's suicide. Of course, Renko doesn't actually believe was a suicide since Tatiana was highly involved in politics that many powerful people don't seem to like very much.
This is a fast-paced, page-turner that I could not put down. This book lacked the same flavor of setting seen in Cruz Smith's other books. I just didn't feel like I was really reading about characters in Russia. It didn't matter that much because I really couldn't put the book down.
