Set Your DVRs: Major Crimes S3 Plus S2 Marathon

Just when my backlog on the DVR is starting to lighten up, Major Crimes Season three starts Monday night on TNT at 9pm with Flynn, Provenza, Captain Rayder and the rest of the Major Crimes crew. AND TNT starts a Season Two marathon tonight, at 2am - so you might want to set your DVRs to record all episodes if you didn't watch the second season and you have room.

The show is doing so well for TNT that there have been rumors that this spin off The Closer is about to get a spin off of it's own. One starring Jon Tenney as Agent Fritz Howard. Fritz has been in a few Major Crimes episodes but the new show would revolve around him. I like Agent Howard's character and I would watch a Fritz based show. Not sure how they do a show on Fritz without his wife Brenda Leigh Johnson...

TNT has another premiere tomorrow night and this one is a brand new show called Murder in the First.

Here is the description of the show - Love the Northern California location:

Fugitives determined to escape punishment in the great state of Texas should think twice. There's a brave force of law enforcement officers known as the U.S. Marshal Service who will be right on their tail no matter where they go.

Set in San Francisco, Murder in the First will follow a single case across an entire season. The series follows homicide detectives Terry English (Taye Diggs) and Hildy Mulligan (Kathleen Robertson) as they investigate two seemingly unrelated murders. The mystery deepens, however, when they find both murders have a common denominator in Silicon Valley wunderkind Erich Blunt (Tom Felton).

Terry and Hildy's fellow detectives in their squad include SFPD homicide inspector David Molk (Raphael Sbarge), a thoughtful philosopher-cop and frequent class clown, and his tough-as-nails partner inspector Edgar Navarro (Lombardo Boyar). The ambitious and no-nonsense Lt. Jim Koto (Ian Anthony Dale) serves as the squad's supervisor.

Supporting Blunt in his endeavors are Bill Wilkerson (Steven Weber), his long-time friend, driver and pilot, and Ivana West (Bess Rous), the company's brilliant chief technology officer. Blunt's legal team includes David Hertzberg (Richard Schiff), his gruff lawyer and trusted confidant, and Warren Daniels James (Cromwell), a legendary criminal attorney brought in to assist when suspicion turns to Blunt. Facing them in the courtroom will be the remarkably brilliant District Attorney Sonia Perez (Nicole Ari Parker) and pit-bull Chief Prosecutor Mario Siletti (Currie Graham).

Murder in the First also takes viewers into Terry and Hildy's home lives. Hildy is a single mom with an inquisitive daughter (Mimi Kirkland). Terry, meanwhile, is struggling to take care of his terminally ill wife, Emily, played by guest star Anne-Marie Johnson (JAG, In the Heat of the Night).

I'm definitely going to give it a try. It starts right after Major Crimes

I'm also excited about another new TNT show, this one is real instead of just a rumor. It's called Legends and it stars Sean Bean (Ned Stark, Game of Thrones) show.  Legends
premieres August 13th and we'll have more on that later.
