Arianna Huffington Wants Us to Sleep More

I was at a conference a few weeks ago, and Arianna Huffington spoke about her book, Thrive: The Third Metric in Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom and Wonder. And like the Martha Stewart post from
Monday, this is a little off topic.

Because I post a blog every day, run my own business (that has nothing to do with the blog), and write fiction, thriving sounds very good to me. Of course, the book came out last March, but I missed it, probably because I was working too much.

She got up in front of 5000 entrepreneur's and small business owners and made the case for getting more sleep. And apologize in advance for the poor quality of the video.

Here's how she set it up:

She suggested that everyone sleep for 30 minutes more each day, leave cell phones, tablets and computers outside of the bedroom while we sleep and to take naps. That this will help all of us recharge.

The concept is a good one, but not every place of business has a nap room like the Huffington Post. Still, I am trying to get more sleep and occasionally take a nap. While I'm getting more sleep, I'll leave you with this little anecdote about Arianna's accent.
