Book Review: Chris Pavone's The Travelers

Chris Pavone's third standalone thriller, The Travelers, comes out tomorrow from Crown Books.  Having read and enjoyed all three of his books to date - The Expats, The Accident and now, The Travelers, I can say that this is my favorite.

The main character, newly married Will Rhodes, works for a travel magazine and journeys all over the world to get his stories. He gets duped and gets ensnared by a woman on one of these trips who drags him into a different world filled with spying and double crosses. As he grapples with his new life as a forced spy, he tries desperately to keep his marriage from unraveling. Will is in over his head in so many ways and the people he trusts the most, may the very people he's trying to get away from.

Once you start this book, you won't want to put it down. The plot keeps the pages turning while the description takes you to far away places. I rooted for Will, even though I didn't agree with many of his choices. I'm not the only one who loved this book, the movie studio, Dreamworks has announced that it has already acquired the movie rights to Pavone's book. I can't wait to find out who will star in it.
