Jack Reacher is coming back on the big screen with Tom Cruise back in the starring role. The second Jack Reacher movie doesn't premier until October 21, but the trailer is already out. Kerry Hammond gives us a little background.
Jack Reacher was the title of the first movie to bring Lee
Child’s character Jack Reacher to the big screen. It followed Child’s first
book, The Killing Floor, and starred Tom Cruise as our ex-Army hero. On October
21st, the second movie to feature this larger than life character will
premier.
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, based on the book of the same
name, stars Tom Cruise as Reacher and features Cobie Smulders, of How I Met
Your Mother fame, as Susan Turner. Turner is not only working in Reacher’s old
unit, but she‘s using his old desk—the one with a dent in it, purportedly to
have been caused when Reacher smashed someone’s head into it. Reacher is
heading to Northeast Virginia where he plans to meet Turner, to put a face to
the voice he’s heard on the phone. What he finds is that he’s been accused of a
16-year-old homicide, and Turner has been thrown in jail. Reacher starts to
wonder if maybe you really can never go back.
