Book Review: The Heiresses

The Heiresses by Sara Shepard (author of the Pretty Little Liars young adult books) is the story of five, you guessed it, young women with inherited wealth. The women have good looks, money, power, but their family also seems to suffer from a string of unusual deaths. The story kicks off with one of the five heiresses, Poppy, throwing herself out a window. But no one in the family knows why the heck she would do that, and then the other heiresses start getting threatening notes saying one heiress down, four to go... That doesn't sound like suicide.

I'll warn you right now, this book is easy to pick up and hard to put down. You don't want to start it unless you'll have time to finish it. It's a perfect summer or vacation book.

In the hands of another writer, five heiresses could get boring or one dimensional fast, but that isn't the case here. The story is well plotted and well told. It scoops you right in and keeps hold. I can't wait for her next book.
