The Amercans Season Three Finale Tomorrow Night

Tomorrow night on FOX marks the season finale of season three of The Americans. It's been an emotional and dangerous season for our heros/anti-heroes Elizabeth and Phillip Jennings, who appear to be everyday Americans in the 1980s but are really KGB spies. If you haven't watched The Americans, stop reading and go start with episode one. It's just too good to miss. If you've been following along this season, then read on with caution.

Season three for me has been the most nerve wracking season yet. We've seen Phillip's fake wife Martha shipped off to Russia by herself - I never thought she'd make it there alive, and come to think of it, we haven't seen so much of a glimpse of Martha on Russian soil. We've seen Agent Gad killed senselessly in a Thai hotel room while he was on vacation because he tried to get away from KGB spies there. We saw Nina shot in a Russian jail. We saw Phillip, Elizabeth and their handler infected with a bio-terror weapon, only to manage to survive after getting the anti-dote.

And the most teeth-nashing plot of them all, we watched daughter Paige trying to stay close to her pastor after she confessed her parent's job to him soon after she learned.
Paige did tell Past Tim last season, but we've been watching the aftermath and waiting for Pastor Tim's pregnant wife to blow the whistle on the Jennings.

And now as we head into the season finale, you can see in the previews that bio-terror threats emerge again...

Life for Phillip and Elizabeth Jennings isn't easy as Americans, but it might be easier than going back to Russia, with children that don't speak Russian. I can't wait to find out how they end this season.

The shows producers have recently announced that the show will end after season five and FOX has renewed The Americans until then. This will give this tightly plotted drama a definite and planned end.

  1. This is one of my favorite shows. I am very curious to see how the story progresses with Paige and the pastor. Also, as mentioned will we see Martha in Russia? Did she make it to Russia? Glad to know we still have 2 more seasons but at the same time, sad because they are only 2 more seasons. It will be interesting to see how the writers end this one.
