If you love old books, you'll love Brattle Book Shop housed in a three-story building on West Street, just a few blocks from the Park Street T station, and the Freedom Trail, in downtown Boston. The shop claims to be one of the America's oldest and largest used book shops.
Brattle also has a huge outdoor area filled with bargain books, ranging from $3-$10. There were some wonderful treasures in here, including tomes from the early 1900s.
The top floor of the bookstore features rare finds as well as decorative books with beautiful bindings. You are required to check your bags to browse on this floor but it's well worth any temporary separation from your bag.
Brattle has an experienced buyer at the shop from 9-5pm.
