Book Review: Novel Destinations

Novel Destinations by Shannon McKenna Schmidt & Joni Rendon serves as a travel guide for literary destinations of all kinds, all over the world. The sections give you a flavor for what you'll see at Henry David Thoreau's Cabin (it's a replica) at Walden Pond in Concord, MA, Franz Kafka's Prague or pubs in England where CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien hung out.

It's a beautiful hardcover with color photos and sections where you can, "Drink, Dine and Doze" to your literary heart's content. The sections are short and easy to digest, with highlighted "Don't Miss" tips for almost every chapter.

Shannon sent us a list of some of the mystery themed destinations and there are quite a few, although most of the books coverage falls outside of the mystery genre.

This is a great book to have when adding a day or an afternoon to a trip. You might even find a literary destination that you didn't know about in your own back yard.
