Ward, Lock & Co's Stratford upon Avon Guide

Yesterday we had scones from the Queen, so today it was only fitting to keep covering England. I stumbled across this fabulous guidebook for Stratford upon Avon published in 1910. Stratford upon Avon is most well known for being the birthplace of Shakespeare. My copy is brittle and ripping at the binding, but I still love it. It's still in great shape for a 100 year old book.

I've scanned some of my favorite pages here.

This little note comes from the publishers. It's about as far away from Trip Advisor as you can get.

The ads are so cool. So we'll have a festival of ads from the book tomorrow.

  1. Where did you find this? Very cool, and I've been to the town. This brings me back there.
