Crafty Thursdays: Skull Duster Earrings

Fall is almost in the air and so I thought it would be a great time to make these crystal skull earrings. This is a pretty easy project but it does require a few jewelry making tools

Materials:
- Two crystal skulls - I got mine online at Fire Mountain Gems
- Two tiny black beads for under the skull to keep it on the head pin
- Two head pins
- Silver wire
- Ten Bronze smoke crystal bicone beads - I also got mine at Fire Mountain Gems
- Two earring hooks

Tools:
- jewelry pliers - round nose and flat nose
- wire cutters

Step One:
Thread the head pin first through the small black bead, then through the skull bead. Make a loop at the top. Check out the video below for instructions on how to make the loop.

Step Two:
Snip a piece of wine about an inch and a half long off the roll. Form two wire loops around the crystal bicone bead, making sure to thread one of the loops through the loop at the top of the crystal skull. Repeat this with four more bicone beads until you have five in a row with the skull at the bottom. Repeat steps for the other earring.

Step Three:
Attach the earring loop to top of the bicone chain and close the hook. Repeat with the other earring. Now you are done.

  2. Coooool ! Fall is great for its cool nights, giving us a reason to have fire in the fireplace. Makes the house all cozy and warm. I want to wear these earrings in the college library - the students would get a kick out of them :)
