Tangled Up in Brew

We're celebrating the release of Tangled Up in Brew by Joyce Tremel. She's stopped by to tell us all about it. Scroll down for a great giveaway.

It’s a strange feeling having a second book released into the wild. At this time last year, I had turned in the manuscript for the second book in the Brewing Trouble series, TANGLED UP IN BREW and finished reviewing page proofs for the first book, TO BREW OR NOT TO BREW. I’d started thinking about the launch party in December and began writing the third book. No wonder this year has sped by!

I’d wanted to be a published author for as long as I can remember and this year has truly been a dream come true. I’ve tried to savor every moment—after all, you can only be a debut author once. There have been some challenges, but I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s been a wonderful year.

The release of the second book definitely has a different feel to it. With the first book, I was too excited to be very nervous about any of it. It was like going on a trip to a wonderful unknown place. Frankly, I was shocked that people actually showed up to my launch party at Mystery Lovers Bookshop and that it was standing room only. And they weren’t all friends and relatives! Some of them may have come because we served beer, but they bought the book anyway.

The second book coming out feels like going back to that wonderful place, but being not quite sure it will be as wonderful as the first time around. I know what to expect, but this time I have thoughts like, What if this book isn’t as good as the first? What if no one likes it? What if no one buys it? Why did I want to be a writer anyway? Maybe I should just go back to bed and pull the covers over my head… Did I mention that writers are a little insecure?

Like most writers, we put words on the page because we have a story to tell. We want people to read those stories and love them as much as we do. We never want to disappoint our readers and we work hard not to do so. It’s my job to tell a good tale to entertain those who read my books. I will be anxiously biting my nails on release day hoping I did my job. And did it well.

Joyce is on blog tour with Escape with a Good Book Blog Tours. They are hosting a giveaway (see below) and a host of other tour stops. Why not visit one of the other blogs just to say hi.

  1. Tangled in Brew does look like a most intriguing read. So hoping to read it sooner. Rather than later. Della at deepotter at peoplepc dot com
